PhD at Central University of Kerala: Apply by December 31

Central University of Kerala, Thejaswini Hills, Periye PO, Kasaragod-671 316, has invited application for admission to the full-time Ph.D. Programmes for the Academic Year 2017-18.

Applicant should have passed the Master’s Degree in the concerned/allied/relevant subject with 55% marks in the qualifying examination or with a CGPA of 6.0 in the 10 point scale from a UGC recognized University. SC/ST applicants will get a 5% relaxation in marks at the qualifying examination.

Ph D Programs are offered in the following departments: Economics; English and Comparative Literature; Hindi, International Relations and Politics; Malayalam; Public Administration and Policy studies; Social Work; Education; Biochemistry and Molecular Biology; Computer Science; Environmental Science; Genomic Science; Geology, Mathematics; Plant Science; Law; Public Health and Community Medicine; Physics; Animal Science; Chemistry; Linguistics.  The number of vacancies in each department is given in the Notification available at www.cukerala.ac.in

Filled application form has to be submitted latest by 31.12.2017, to the Head of the concerned Department in the communication address given in the notification available at the website. The application should be accompanied by a Demand Draft of Rs.1000/- (Rs.500/- for SC/ST/PwD) drawn in favour of the Registrar, Central University of Kerala, payable at Periye. SC/ST applicants coming through the CUCET 2017 are exempted from payment of application fee.

All eligible applicants in possession of JRF/KSCSTE/Similar Fellowships and SC/ST applicants who have qualified in CUCET 2017 entrance test will be required to present and discuss their research interest at an interview before the Departmental Research Committee concerned or before a sub-committee constituted by it. The DRC will allot the applicants among the eligible supervisors considering the number of vacancies, area of research, specialization of supervisors and reservation policy.
